HOME – Dining Room Refresher

I just gave my dining room a makeover! I felt like it had become a bit outdated and I wanted to bring the space more warmth and a trendy feel. I don’t have a separate dining room but it is connected with my kitchen. So not only is it my dining room but it’s also breakfast, craft, and home office area.  When decorating or designing a space, I always keep in mind that it must be kid-friendly. This dinning table is perfect when it comes to trendy pieces, not to mention it’s quite durable too which is great for when kids are around. This reclaimed wood table and bench are very easy to clean and the imperfect texture is ideal for what it goes through on the daily!

This room was so much fun to play around with. I wanted to give this room a vintage French feel with a modern touch. I swapped out my old fabric chairs to these Oak Wood chairs.  These chairs have velvet fabric, which I find easy to clean spills than on the fabric chair.

I also added new light fixture. This has more of a vintage style compared to what I had previously. This light fixture brings an old, vintage feel yet also trendy.

Lastly, I added an olive tree in the corner to add some colour, texture, and warmth to the space. I added touch of light grey with the 5’x7’ area rug and to make the space look bigger.

Well, there you have it! Hope you guys liked my makeover!

4 Easy Steps to organizing your Kitchen Cabinets

Step 1: Take Everything out of your cabinets

Declutter take everything out of the cabinets, sort, and make a pile of things you don’t need. This way you know what to keep and what throw out or donate. This stage is very critical; if you don’t sort out things then the process of strategy of cabinets is going to be overwhelming.

Step 2: Strategize your Cabinets

According to your everyday needs plan and even label the upper and lower cabinet. Ideally the upper cabinet you put dinner plates, dessert bowls, glasses, cups, dish trays and lower cabinet you store pots and pans, cooking appliances such as toaster, juicer, or blender.

Step 3: Storing items in the cabinets – Sort and Arrange

This is a fun stage, where you put everything back in the cabinets. Make sure you arrange them with your style of cooking. Cookware should be closer to the stove and bake ware should be closer to the oven. This way, its easy to find and functional at the same time.

Step 4: Maintain the organized kitchen – Make a plan

This is very important to remember to keep up with it. Set a weekly quick kitchen clean up, where you make sure all the items are where they supposed to and if not you can arrange it how it was. This is way you’re not overwhelming yourself and keep your kitchen organized and clean!

I wanted something like this to go with my white kitchen.

I am seeing the olive tree trend lately, so I had to look into one. Since, I don’t have much space to put a real one, I found this beautiful fake one. I also love the brass gold measuring spoons, it’s functional and it looks so pretty in the picture.
